    ? about changing handguards

This is for you guys that know such things. I have a PSA 20" barreled upper with the MI 15" T-series free float handguard, with the low profile gas block and standard A2 flash hider. I want to change to the MI 15" SS series free float. My question is, do I have to disassemble everything or is it just a simple matter of unscrewing the guard from the mount and sliding it off? If my thinking is correct, the barrel nut should stay, no reason to remove it, and it should be a simple change. Anyone more educated in this area have an answer?
Trying to keep it simple, and will sell the quad rail since I don't need to mount anything on it. It's in perfect shape.
    Thanks
    Ryan

you should only have to loosen the two allen screws on the bottom and it should slide off. I would use blue loctite on the new allen screws. Nice looking rail now I want one.

If both rails use the same barrel nut then the only thing you will need to do is remove and replace the rails. If they use different barrel nuts then you will need to do more work.

Just did deeper research. My T-series is a Gen 1. So it's more work involved.
        Thanks guys.

I can get a G1 SS series free float. That will be a simple unscrew and re-screw job. Anybody interested in a G1 15" T series rail? It will come with the new, unused barrel nut that comes with the SS rail. Nothing has ever been on the quads. They've had ladder bars on them since I got it. Except for a small section on the lower front from the bi-pod mount.
