    Noob AR Lower question

    Why do you need the rear shelf? Why not just drill the takedown pin hole?

    Because the upper needs to seat there. The hole on the upper is bigger than the pin, you need to mill it out or the upper can't mate properly.
    I use to be an anarchist but I quit that; there's too many rules.
