80% AR hammer problem

I helped my friend put together his 1st 80% today and the hammer cocks and releases fine, but sits crooked to the left when not cocked.

Is this something that will cause any problems?

I think it depends on how/where it strikes the firing pin. If it still strikes the pin squarely, it will probably work, if not...

Are the hole for the trigger pin and hammer pin drilled properly?

missdrilled hammer pin hole. If it fires and shows no sign of wear on side of hammer should be ok .

im thinking somehow he drilled the right side hole slightly too high

we didnt have an upper at the time but it looks like it should hit the firing pin squarely enough, if not should he fill it and re drill?

How does it pass a function test?

everything functions well just testing the lower without upper

Just grind/taper the upper hammer striker side to track better in bolt carrier hammer guide slot to prevent riding up on bolt carrier or twist carrier to prevent excess wear on receiver/op rod due to twisting.

Your also going to have to stone hammer sear to better match trigger sear to make engagement parallel to each other.
