AR lower front detent install tool

I saw someone mentioned using a Clevis Pin as a detent install tool. Here is the perfect item from Home Depot, approx $1.50.....

I'm confused. How does a razor blade not work?

weg: That device is obsolete now. They replaced it with wizards.
frank: Wait a minute. There are more than one wizard? Is [are?] the wizard calibrated?

          Me too.
You may not like guns, and choose not to own one. That is your right. You might not believe in God. That is your choice. However, if someone breaks into your home, the first two things you're going to do are, 1) Call someone with a gun, 2) Pray they get there in time.

razor blade and spare pin from back coming from opposite side works best.

you just chase the pin out with the permanent pin

Isn't it possible to use the pivot pin itself as a Clevis pin? IIRC that's how I did it last time...

                  This is what I do.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

I push in with front take down pin and slide it right in. No need to buy unneeded tools.

I just use the knife on my leatherman. I use it for the rest of my build so it's there anyway
