Im gonna guess that you have a dot front sight and you are NOT using the dot to aim with.

But your not hitting what you aim at. 5 inches low at 7 yards? What type of sights? What sight picture are you using? Are you covering the front sight over the target? Are you using a six o'clock hold? More info is needed.

I'll hazard a guess he uses a 6:00 hold with sights that are regulated for a center-hold.

I was using center hold covering the target with front sight. It has the stock fixed sights from SA, whatever that is.

Your correction needed is .124 thousands lower front sight (or a combination of lower front, higher rear sight) if your poi is really 5" low at 7 yards. That is outside the range of correction normally correctable by swapping front sight heights (for example a Novak front sight on a 1911 is normally around .185 in height with corrective sight heights usually ranging from .165 to about .210 depending upon sight model.

The pistol needs to be shot from a rest at a measured distance onto a target where you can accurately measure how far off the group poi is from poa. SDM Fabricating has a handy sight correction calculator you can find online.

I'm not sure if the SA 9mm 1911 you're inquiring about is the one that you have for sale with the aftermarket parts. Assuming shooting from a rest verifies the stated poi/poa error I would suggest you remove the aftermarket parts, replace them with the original Springfield parts and send the pistol back to SA for free warranty repair after verifying that removing the aftermarket parts didn't correct the problem.

Are your firing pin strikes centered in the primer?
Are you shooting particularly lightweight bullets or low powered ammo?

Good advice redcliff. OP, this is not aimed at you. Not a lot of info provided but what comes to mind when I see stuff like this about a 1911 makes me wonder. Does the seeming simplicity of a 1911 pattern pistol invite tinkering from shooters that don't fully appreciate how the parts work together. I'm fairly certain that parts swappers start having problems mainly from lack of understanding the intricacies. Tighten up a slide to frame fit, clip this spring, change that spring etc. Ask a parts swapper a question about timing and ruin their day! When somebody says a 1911 is so simple a monkey could work on it I suspect they've just been lucky so far. A lot of guys can tune up a 1911 but only a few can make it accurate and extremely reliable.
