Is this acceptable method for AK cant fix?

    1) No redrilling of FSB or removal of pins
    2) Uses barrel with wooden block inside vice
    3) Uses a plastic dead blow hammer to move it over.
    4) Uses laser boresight to adjust variance of degree of cant.

For minimal movement it can be done like that.
    Couple things though.
Although there is minimal movement with the pins installed when struck with a mallet you will get to a point (rather quickly) where the pin is doing it's job, and holding the front sight in position like it should be.

NEVER HIT THE EARS OF THE FRONT SIGHT WITH A MALLET!!!!!
They will bend. Always strike below them if attempting this method.

I have never heard of drilling out the 3mm pins in the FSB.
Pressing them out or punching them out yes. But never drilling them out.
I recommend a press with good support under the fsb to support it from rolling, and keep any pressure off the FSB ears. Using a press with a 2.8mm pin ( I made on to fit my barrel pin pressing tool) you will not damage the FSB or the pins removing or re-installing them.

I normally press the FSB slightly forward before attempting to move it from side to side. This makes it much easier, and can easily be pressed back on after needed rotation is done. I do not use a bore sight tool.
I use clocking rods like this:

When they are parallel it's aligned.

The mark on the front of the FSB, and windage drum was made when the rifle was originally sighted in.
Most are NOT in the center.

Dude's methods are pretty Khyber pass.

I don't believe the "beat on it until it's centered" method is the best.....

I made a jig to get the barrel parts perfectly in line..

Here is a overall pic.. You clamp the rear sight base to the vertical on the right. It's perfectly 90 degrees to the base..

      RSB clamped to the fixture.

After clamping you place these two pieces on each side of the FSB.. They are also exactly 90 degrees to the base.

      So it looks like this.

When you have the same distance between the ears and the fixture on both sides your FSB is perfectly in line..

I can also install the gas block with this same method to get it perfectly in line with the bore...

Another pic..Before I start the process I make sure the front sight barrel is centered and the front sight post is in as shown in the pic's...

Once everything is perfectly aligned I drill the pin holes and set the pins...
      Poke'm with a stick!

You guys are gonna hate me when you see my fixture that holds the gas block and FSB in alignment with linear bearings while they are being pressed on to the barrel.

              It's not done yet.
It solves the issue of alignment shift while pressing though...

Nice... I thought about building something similar... But I didn't have a table which was stout enough to handle the press....

                  Post some pics Please!!!!
