Mounting front swivel stud one a SxS?

I'd like to add a front swivel stud to my Stoeger Coach Gun and would appreciate your advice on what type of swivel to use.

Should I mount the swivel stud to the steel between the barrels or to the wood forend?

It seems that it should be mounted to the barrels but I'm not sure how to do that other than drilling and tapping the steel between the barrels which sounds risky to me because there isn't much depth to the steel there. I saw on midwayusa's website that NECG has a sweat-on stud but I've never sweated anything before and don't know how to do it.

I'm wondering if I could install this flush on the inside of the forend and have the round part hang out the front of the forend.

I'd like to do this myself if possible.

I would mount it to the wood. It is easier to patch up if you decide you don't want it after all.

Is yours a stoeger? Looks similar but I cant tell for sure.

Here is mine. I got it used but it looks new and it had nice wood so I bought it.

You are a better googler than I because I didn't find anything! Thanks for finding that picture. I was considering doing that but now that I see it I know I want to use a different type of front swivel stud.

There is a kit from NECG that installs into the steel between the two barrels. It's about $25 for the part but I think its the proper way to do it.

i wouldn't use anything sweat-on if you're not experienced with silver soldering, that's what is holding your barrels together, you could loosen that solder joint. big problem. sXs cannot even be hot blued for that reason. check uncle mikes swivel listings for your gun, see what they use for mounting.
