    MG42 need help

Hello all, I have a semi BRP MG42 that I need some help with.

I had an out of battery round go off which fortunately didn't damage the receiver or trunion, or hurt anyone but it did bend the hell out of the barrel door so I need a new barrel door and the rivets for it.
Once that's fixed, I have some MG1 parts to switch over to 308. I have the top cover, barrel and barrel bushing. Do I need to find anything else?

    Thanks
    Fred

These guys should be able help.

OP, wish I had your problem. I would love to be maintaining something like an MG42.

Good luck though getting her fixed up.

I'd love to be able to find someone local but thank for the Red Jacket idea.

I have never been able to fully enjoy my 42 as much as my 1919, it's always had bugs and been temperamental. The 1919 runs like a swiss watch and I dream of the day this runs as goods as the 1919.

Ah, I do have the feed tray too, it came with the top cover. From the best I can tell, my gun was built with a WWII parts kit and if possible I'd like a barrel door to match but hell if this is all I can get than so be it. There probably isn't any visual difference between an M53 door or a MG42 door, right?
