RRA 2 Stage Lower Problem w/ Trigger Pull: STiCKS

I took out the new ar15 today and after firing the first round the trigger stuck and would not return to the unfired position unless I manually pushed it forward or I flipped the safety switch and then back to fire position. I took everything apart but to no avail. What a bummer.

    What am I not seeing?

    Thanks.

may be hanging up on the safety and may need to be clearanced. Also the Disconnector may be hanging up. I had a similar problem, I just bought a better trigger.

You mean the trigger is not resetting? What kind of receiver is it? LPK? Post some pics, please!

Supersonic: exactly. It's a RRA lower. I disassembled the trigger assy to make sure the disconnecter / spring wasn't mangled or catching on anything. From what I can tell it's not. I'll post some pics tomorrow as I just put it back together b/f checking this thread.

Damon: what trigger did you end up going with for your RRA lower?

This is my first AR and to have the trigger malfunction right off the bat ( 1st shot )was pretty lame. I bought this as a complete rifle and in retrospect I should have probably built my own...at least I would have known exactly what I was getting.

Call RRA as they have a good customer service and will even pay for the shipping to them. Most companies won't. I install a Timney 3 lbs trigger and am very happy with it. It was twice what the RRA cost but it is also twice the trigger. Worth it if you shoot alot. For the occasional plinker the RRA is good enough.

Triple check to make absolutely sure your fire control group springs (trigger & hammer) are oriented correctly. I have seen many malfunctions due to the trigger and/or hammer spring being backwards. It's easy to confuse the proper orientation when in a hurry. If you're not sure, check this out as a guide:www.kevinholman.com/byor/trigger/triggerrra.jpg

AND, make sure your hammer spring "legs" are seated firmly on top of your trigger pin, between the spring & the lower receiver walls. Hope that helps.

Check out what Supersonic mentioned. My RRA 2 stage trigger has worked flawlessly since I installed it on my AR a while back.

Also, if you're comfortable doing the work yourself, you may want to check with RRA if they send you an advanced replacement, kinda like how computer and electronics manufacturers use the RMA process.

Yeah, the RRA II-stages are great trigger systems. If you like 'em, you will love the new Armalite Tactical II-stage. Incredible price, adjustable to 3 weight settings, unbelievable performance.
