      Good for you.
Using a professional AK builder like Mario from PoHF you cannot go wrong with the finished product.
However I believe I should mention that there are some pretty talented 'garage builders' out there as well, and lumping all of any one group of people together is inaccurate.

my apologies, I didn't to mean group all builders in the same bunch, it was a comment based on my experiences and I should have said that. I know some are better than others.

not yet, waiting on my FFL to receive the receiver then it's off to the builder after DROS. I'll post pix up when I get the rifle back.

From this statement I am guessing you're not using one of the 80% heat treated shells but one of the 100% receivers from Dark Knight correct?

I would put the WOLF and CAIMAN up against any of the "professional smiths" I've ever had dealings with, more so when dealing with AKs. And the best part is that they are more than happy to share their knowledge with the rest of us.

PP has a chip on his shoulder over local home builders for some reason. A similar post was erased in another thread recently.

I've tried it twice by a builder who frequents the GS section and was dissatisfied with the results and (and price) both times.

nico, yes, on one of his 100% receivers.

I built all of mine without any teaching or assistance. I spent time figuring out what to do and bought all the tools. I don't blame anyone for my mistakes. My builds are all perfect. They are mine and function 100% of the time from shot 1. People that rely on others so that their build works have no right to judge other builders skill. And statements like yours don't belong here.

no chip, just don't think some of the so-called "master builders" are what they claim to be. wasn't meant to be a blanket statement, just on my personal dealings with 2 San Diego area garage builders. when I want something done that I can't do myself, I want it done right. I don't want to hear about some magical warranty on someone's work that was written with invisible ink when I signed his affidavit. if anyone's arrogant, it's a garage builder who thinks he's the ish, not some chap who wants an AK to last as long as he does. if paying a professional and recognized builder is what it takes, then that's what it takes--at least it'll get done right the 1st time.

Some one else will get it done for you. That's not a builders mentality. So your guidence here is void. Period! Move along sir.
