I installed a competition trigger spring and now the safety is not resetting unless I rack the slide. Does anyone know if this will loosen up after use or is this how most competitors use this? This is a G34 for use in competition IDPA/USPSA and range only.

Which safety is not resetting?
The firing pin safety or the trigger safety?Randall Rausch

It's the trigger safety.Comment

the trigger doesn't move forward all the way to activate the safety. It just needs to move 1 millimeter to activate.Comment

The trigger will normally not reset unless the slide is cycled.
The slide cycles automatically after you fire the gun.
Are you saying that the trigger will not reset after the slide cycles?Randall Rausch

The trigger does reset. That's not the problem.
The trigger safety doesn't engage during follow trigger resets. The only time the trigger safety will engage is when it is inititally racked.Comment

That is not how competitors use them. I would go back to a stock trigger spring.Comment
