    timney #510 trigger.

I have a remmy 700 in 300 win mag, the 7P model. It does not have the xmark pro trigger, rather an older one. After several hours of tinkering I got the trigger to feel amazing. It still had just a tad bit of creep in it. In my infinite wisdom I decided to buy the timney #510. What a HUGE mistake. The trigger fires on it's own doing the bolt close test, unless I have the trigger set to max poundage. I am so disappointed with this purchase. Does anybody have any tips, or even something I'm missing? as of right now I can't wait to ship this thing back to Midway USA.

I would contact Timney. They have a great reputation, if all their triggers were like what you explained, they wouldn't be in business. I'm sure there is an explanation, something you did wrong or even a defective product, it happens to the best of products. Give them a call and they will take care of you.

    Good luck,
    Ryan

Doing the bolt closed test, does it fire when out of the stock or while in the stock. If doing it outside of the stock then send it back for refund or replacement. If doing it while inside the stock find out whats pushing or binding.

Here is a quick link to another 510 issue with resolve from the user.http://forum.snipershide.com/snipers...justments.html

So what makes you think these are drop in parts???

Every trigger needs to be fit and adjusted to every rifle.

The trigger took very little modifying to fit into the stock, this is a non issue. In my OP I said nothing about modifying being an issue. The bolt close testing I did both out of the stock and in the stock. The firing pin drops in both scenarios. The installation is very easy and quick per timneys instructions. I'll contact timney on Monday and see what they have to say about the situation. 1911Ryan has some common sense advise I think I was just too beside myself to think of. thanks for the link and advise all

What was the outcome? I'm looking to buy one as well.
