(Resolved) How do I remove a stuck ejector from Savage Bolt

Here is my broken one and replacement. I think I used magnet to it out.

I ran upstairs to try my rare earth magnet kit... no dice, but thanks for the tip. Glad it worked for you.

Quick update: I gave Savage Warranty a call and they looked up the serial number H5***** which had a manufacture date in 2012. She said this was not an uncommon problem and they would take care of it. They emailed me a pre-paid UPS label and had me ship the whole rifle back to them. I dropped it off this AM at the UPS store, so hopefully, I'll have some good news to share in a couple weeks/months.

Had some brass flow into the ejector hole and wedge up the ejector on my Remington 700 once. I used a kinetic bullet puller (the plastic ones they sell to pull bullets out of cartridges for reloaders). Since the puller is like a hammer made of hard plastic, I whacked the face of the bolt and was able to get the ejector to pop back out.

I just got back my rifle from Savage's warranty dept. They received it on 10/17, and it was scheduled to be delivered on 11/7. I'm pretty impressed with the turnaround. 4 weeks door to door.

In the packing slip it says:

Repair bolt
Re-serialize
Headspace - good
Assemble small parts
Proof test - passed
Function Fire - passed

They paid shipping both ways, and didn't charge me a dime. I'm pretty impressed.

PB Blaster

Just FYI for anyone else that stumbles onto this thread when trying to figure out how to remove the stuck ejector, use PB Blaster. I tried everything mentioned here short of sending back to manufacturer. I finally gave a good shot of blaster and within an hour the thing sprung out
