    gas key bolt broke

stag upper about 4,000rds of reloads and steal case ammo. 1st time gas key bolt broke about 1 year ago, replaced the bolt with dpms bolts(both) (did not replace gas key only the bolts) i have shoot about 300-350rds since last year and yesterday i broke again.

i could just buy a new bcg and be done with it but im just afraid it could be something else, and the new bcg gas key bolts will break again...

any imput, advice, suggestion would be great..

Replace both screws with new one from Bravocompany or other reputable retailer and hand lap the gas key to the carrier. Install new bolts and torque to (30 - 40 in.lbs) each.
Stake the screws as the last step. No loctite needed. You can use Permatex if you llike.
    These things happen.

Exactly right, find the best bolts you can (hard to tell), but BCM sells good stuff.

Odd that it happened twice. If it happens again there is probably another issue.
sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.

Young's Manufacturing makes a big deal of not staking; they clean and torque and some Permatex. Might try that.
