3 point jam quick question =)

I know this has been discussed several times, i have read the posts from calguns and other forums as well. But i would like to get your opinions again before i go spending some $ on new mags.

Basically I recently got a springfield mc operator and I've been having 3 point jams mostly on fresh mags and doing either the slingshot method or slide lock release. I do load full 7 rounds on a 7 rounder mag. I shot approx 400 rounds so far and i would get 5-6 jams out of 100 rounds. I don't believe "its in the break in method" would work =). It happens on both mags that came with the gun. I am using factory winchester box ammo, with the original mags (blued) that came with the package. I would want to stay away from modd'ing the pistol or sending it back to SA unless its the last resort and am leaning towards getting Wilson mags and see if it'll fix the problem. What do you guys think I should look aside from that ?

Also, non related but a buddy of mine has a wilson combat mag and he noticed failure to lock slide after last round. Will the new wilson ETM (Elite tactical Magazine) fix that ?

any help would be great! tnx!

First try disassembling the mag and give it a thorough cleaning. If it happens again, buy either a Wolff or Wilson combat replacement spring. Much cheaper than buying a new magazine. I bought a 10 pack from http://www.gunsprings.com/1ndex.html (scroll to the bottom of the menu on the left to "Wilson Combat") and my problems were solved. YMMV

I thought the stock mags are non servicable. How do you disassemble the mag? The reason why i thought the mag was the issue is because it releases the ammo too late thus the hung up on the barrel. I didn't think the spring was causing it. Is the wilson springs softer or harder? Did it fix your problem permanently ?
