    Lower engraving

I am trying to find someone who can engrave my lower. I person who use to, was told engraving a paperweight was considered milling it out and requiring an FFL.
If anyone knows of one near Stockton it would be appreciated. He told me he will provide the Cnc file already programmed for my lower.

    Thanks

Wish I could help you But the guy you use to use is an idiot.

Engraving is classified by the BATFE as a completely different aspect of working on firearms. It is only classified as Gunsmithing when you make to majority of your income from it. If he also engraves other things and lowers are a small part of his business No FFL is needed.

The thing that really suck, is he did a great job. He was fast and cheap. One great combination. $25 and I obviously paid shipping. This is my last lower, for my youngest daughter. Hopefully I can find one that does good work and charges the same. Lol

If you find a good engraver in the Bay Area, let me know.
