    Recommended AR15 lowers and CNC

I'm thinking about getting an 80% AR lower and having it machined. I don't have the equipment myself so I need to find some place that can help me machine it.

I know this is a real broad question but those of you with experience in this area - what AR 80% lowers would you recommend and where in Souther Calif. would you recommend to machine it?

    Thanks for any information.

I've been searching and the only companies that I found around San Diego that make 80% lowers are Ares and CNC (arsunlimited.com). I don't think I want to buy from Ares right now.

I have sees some companies on-line that have products but I don't know much about them. The prices seem to vary quite a bit. There is gunpartsplus.com, desertwarriorproducts.com (their receiver is a little more $160 but I like the trigger guard being part of the frame), colfaxtactical.com, and lockestone.com (also pricey $180).

Anyone know about these companies or any other good manufactures that I should look into?

FYI if you have someone else machine it for you it is no longer a 80%, the person machining it for you would be manufacturing the lower and needs to serialize it, register it and have you go through DROS and wait the 10 days.

There is places where you can go and rent time on the machines and have the shop instruct you how to use the machine, but all the actual machining work must be done by you, hence the name Personal Maufactured Firearm.

I can not recommend lowers as there is just SO MANY manufacturers of 80% in the last year it is near impossible to keep up and test them all.

There is a place in Orange County here is the link to their vendor page:

and they seem to be getting alot of good reveiws.

        Hope that helps

Tactical Machining lowers are good. You can order directly from them. There's a thread here from calguns vendor C3 Armory showing they have them in stock. Local pick-up available if you're by the San Gabriel area.

And another plus for Arms Specialty and Tool in OC for the cnc rental.

Their web site says out of stock (for black anodized anyway).

                So. Cal?

Where in So. Cal are you located?
If you were in central cali, I'd recommend a place in the Fresno area. They have CNC machines so all you have to do is push a button.

For the hardware, try AR's Unlimited out of San Diego - good quality product.

Tr-Enabling has some nice 80%'s. I've milled a few of these and they are good to go.

I also have a few in stock here in Vista, and for $140 total, you can finish it here my shop too !! You'll be done in 2.5-3 hours.

I like that one especially with the oversized trigger guard. However, I am looking for a black anodized one.
