I tried to get on with the AK central coast build party but didn't make the cut. Anyone of the AK team builders interested in helping out a noob. I have two parts kits one is an AKM polish fixed stock and the other is an Egyptian Maadi fixed stock. I have the no drill AK builder flats and all the 922r compliance parts. Only Thing left I need is the barrel pins, going to order them this week. I just don't have the tools necessary for this build: shop press, drill press, spot welder. Any one in the Central Coast area or L.A. willing to help?

I'm surprised neither kit came with the barrels pins, where did you get them? I checked out a guys Egyptian Maadi at the range today that was a built on a populated kit from AK-Builder. It wouldn't cycle the action - the problem was the gas port hadn't been drilled.Last edited by Gowking; 09-15-2013, 10:48 PM.Comment

I purchased the barrels separate they are green mountain chrome lined barrels. The maadi was purchased from AOA and the Polish was purchased from Apex both in good condition. They did come with the pins but I was not sure if it was cool to reuse the pins due to some of the pins being out of round and The 7mm pin from the Maadi was really torn up looks like the took a grinder to it. All I really need is the use of someone's press I have a bending die I bought from another member. Also I don't have a spot welder or a drill press and have no experience using either. Either of you guys interested in helpingComment

That's what I figured I will replace both builds with new pins. Modesto is a bit of a drive but I appreciate the offer. I will keep you in mind in case no one else offers. Thanks.Comment
