Badger ring and base.

Hi! Im a newbie on precision rifle, just bought a Remington 700P and ordered Badger base and ring. I hope someone here can help me answer if ring needs to be lapped and base needs to be bedded. Thanks

Bedding is done to compensate for the slight mismatch in the base to receiver fit.
Lapping of rings is to make sure they are in as near perfect alignment as possible. I recommend both if you are using good glass. if you putting a $100 scope on it why bother
