need some help/tools (savage/stevens smiths please enter)

hey guys, here's the story. i'm putting together a ultra-lightweight rifle for my gf. the lightweight ar i built her is too heavy (7.2 lbs) so this past weekend while picking up my sig p6/225 i drosed a stevens model 200 chambered in .223.
i thought one of my friends still had his barrel wrench so that i could remove my barrel to have it cut down and threaded (further reduce weight) by randall. i know randall could do it but i'm trying to make this as economical as possible. well my friend gave it to the guy who bought his rifle so i have no wrench. i would buy a barrel wrench if i was going to remove several barrels but since i'll only be doing this once (remove and reinstall) i was wondering if one of you guys had one i could borrow. i'll also need a go, no/go gauge for 223 if you got one, for reinstalling the barrel.

i'm in the glendale area and would be willing to pick up the wrench and gauge (if someone could show me how to do it, i could provide the beers although i don't think it'd take that long since i'm just removing the barrel and then putting it back on after i get it threaded). if you're farther than a reasonable driving distance i'd pay for shipping + whatever you think is fair for your help.

tia for any help you guys can offer.

nobody eh? ah well, it's probably better this way. i'll have randall do all the work, with my luck i'd probably headspace it wrong or something.

You also need an action wrench.

On a side note, tell your gf to hit the gym! Rifles don't get much lighter than 6-7lb!

You're a good guy to do all of this for her, but to be perfectly honest, shooting is not gonna be a very fun activity for someone who has trouble with a 7.2lb gun. If I'm not mistaken, the Stevens weighs about 6.5lb, and if you turn down the barrel you may get it down to 6lb. I dunno if that will really make a big difference. Toss a scope on there and we're back to where we started.

Of course I don't want to discourage anyone from shooting, but like any other sport, it's gonna be difficult if you don't meet the physical requirements.

Not trying to be rude, but I just wanted to toss my 2 cents out there.
