    Help with Commander LW

So I have a Colt Commander LW, 9mm made in the early 60's. I've been on the fence a while trying to decide if I should leave it be or do a semi-custom build, the gun is right on the border of being collectors grade. Would probably a be worth a pretty penny in another 20 years, though it does have a fair amount of value now.

Well, I have decide to build the gun. Plenty of parts out there, the one question I have is who should I get the 9mm Commander barrel and bushing from?

Barrel from Kart, Bar sto, or even Storm Lake. All are pretty damn good. Lotta guys nowadays like using the thick EGW bushings.
Main thing is having a good smith fit the stuff together. You'll find some good ideas and superb work over at:

Stock stock stock... If you want a 9mm build up maybe buy a Springfield. I have had several 38 supers and 9 mm Colt commanders and still have a few 9mms. They work just fine the way they are. As for cash in the future, I can think of better investments but fewer with as great of personal pleasure for myself. Enjoy the gun and without seeing it they run about $900-$1500 and $1500 would be a stretch. Enjoy RB
