    leveling and torquing scope

I blew through my budget on my hunting rifle project, but I still need to true up the crosshairs in relation to barrel, and need a small torque driver for the small screws for base and rings.

Is it possible anyone in west covina/orange county area have the tools to help me out?

Here is the rifle in question

And maybe a 30-30 bore laser?

Easist way to true the cross haris is to aim at a weight tied to a string. I do it in the garage, set up the rifle on sandbags, throw one over the stock so it won't move on its own. Tighten the rings so they are not crazy loose but you can still move the scope. Align it on the sandbag sled so the vertical crosshair is lines up with the hanging string without having to touch the rifle. Easier with two people but doable with one.

      Tighten.

      Done.

Don't have a driver but if I did I would lend it to you with my garage string setup.

      Good luck.

Your "weight tied to a string" would be a plumbob basically. Yes I do have one and no I don't know where it is. Haha.

I aligned mine in the backyard by using the grout lines in the cinderblock wall. Its seems pretty damn straight.

I really appreciate it though it would be great to know its all torqued down correctly. Im pretty decent at hand tightening things. But I always prefer the better method when possible.

I am unsure if I should use a dab of pink loctite (very light stuff) or read about clear nail polish aswell.

Yep, plumb bob is the key, I got distracted and for some reason differentiate between a real plumb bob and my fishing weight deal.
