    Benelli Loctite Removal?

Hey fellows, need some help here.

I was trying to remove the receiver extension tube from my Benelli and it would not bulge. First I used the Heat gun on full blast for about 30 minutes and then I resorted to the torch. The torch result in some smoke and damage to the finish, but still no luck.

You can tell you got it hot enough if it will smoke for a solid 10 seconds after removing the heat of the torch from it.

If it only smoked while the torch was being applied, it's not hot enough yet.

Not absolutely, but I have never heard of a Benelli receiver to be solder in that area. Especially since my Manual shows a few diagrams that show a stock exchange.

There was quite some smoke after about 6 minutes in, but I am not certain if that was due to residue from inside the tube.

Ahh just to ask this question.....

Did you try to UNSCREW it????

Most Benelli shotgun tubes are screw in types with Loctite as well.

Put the receiver in a padded bench vise and use a heat gun or hair dryer and heat the area so the receiver and tube are around 250 degrees F (Benelli does not use the high temp Loctite) then unscrew it Counter Clockwise. If you try to unscrew it without a bench vise you will not be able to put enough force to unscrew it.

Since you did not state which model some do have snap rings on the receiver side as well to help hold the tubes in place.

            It is the M3.

Yes I did try to unscrew the receiver extension, did not move. Really? I thought Benelli used medium strength for the magazine tube and high strength for the receiver extension?
