    Ruger mk 77

The thread of how many guns do you own? Decided to pull out a few old rifles. I was looking for some help with this one rifle. The barrel stamped 6mm/284 K E Smith, along the barrel and stock it reads 243 win/ ruger mk 77. It has an old school weaver v3 scope and nice leather sling. The questions I have are regarding this wildcat round? Can this be refitted with a common caliber? And if so which one. I researched 6mm/284 and they still make it $$$ per 20. Any insight would be appreciated. It dates 1968 on rugers website. She is pitted and dinged and the stock is in good shape.

The 6x284 uses a standard 0.473" bolt face.
Your 1968 action is probably a long action.
If the feed ramps on the receiver have not been modified, you could rebarrel to any typical 0.473" boltface long action cartridge.
      These would include 220 swift, 6mm Remington, 6.5x55, 270, 280, 30-06 or 8x57.
There are undoubtedly many others as well, but these are the common ones.
