AR Help...

Took my new AR build out yesterday to the range for the first time.. I encountered 1 problem.. When I was shooting, it would randomly lock the bolt back and not feed the next round then it would shoot 2 to 3 rounds and the same problem... all i would have to do was release the bolt then it would feed the next round... (so basically it was locking the bolt like if the mag was out of rounds) Anyone have any suggestions or why its doing it?

I am using a CMMG 16'' barrel upper and the magazine was a pmag 10rd

Bolt catch spring bad/broken/missing...

The spring presses the bolt catch outward, keeping it out of the way. When the magazine follower presses it upwards, the magazine spring driving the follower is stronger than the bolt catch spring, allowing the bolt catch to lock open.

If the bolt catch spring is bad/broken/missing, the catch can "flop" around and get caught by the bolt. The spring prevents it from moving around and getting in the way.
