    Issue's at SoCal Plating

Got a call today from Socal plating.

I have used them for previous anodizing for my 80% to 100% lowers.

The girl on the phone said she couldn't do the anodizing due to them not having serial numbers on them.

Has anyone else experienced this from them lately or from any other plating company.

We had ours done there with no numbers. Politly remind them that serial numbers are only required when it is transferred. Have them call the ATF if they like.

Ask them what they would do if they were refinishing an old rifle from before 1968 which in a lot of cases will not have a serial number either.

      Thanks KC.
On the phone I had told her that... She seemed like she was being told to call me by the owner, she said she would get back to me, but no one called back yesterday. Going to stop by today and check the status.. They do great work, and like I said I haven't had a issue in the past.

It happens every once in a while. Post office, UPS, FedEx, Platers. etc they get someone that doesn't know the law and then they throw a fit.

And you need to politely remind them that what you are asking them to do is not illegal and show them the law if needed.

I was down there a couple hours ago, I had to let them photo copy my ID. They said the ATF had been there a month or so ago and told them they need to ID owners that came in with 80/100 lowers.

They have my name and address when they do the work order... I guess they just want to make sure I am who I say I am...lol..

some would flip their wig with all that BS but a Unserialized part thats perfectly reasonable. I Think it's more of the ATF being idiots then anything else
