    Sig P229 ...

I'm looking to break down my P229 for a detailed cleaning (and am just curious too) and would like to pull the locking insert. I've removed the take-down lever and the Locking Insert is loose, but it isn't exactly coming out. Do I need tot remove the Slide Catch Lever Spring, or even the Slide Catch Lever first? (Before resorting to brute force....)

    Thanks for any input.

        Thanks for the help.
Once the hammer was down, the Locking Insert came right out.
        Good to know.
