Did some work today and this is what I learned about using a armor's wrench. The wrench I have is made by Tapco. For removing barrel nut, it has three pins on one side, and the other side has the "key pattern" that match up to the standard AR15 barrel nut.
It took some beating with 3lb sledge hammer to get the barrel nut lose. I the process, I learned Tapco wrench is made quality material. After all the beating with a hammer, it appears to be undamaged. What I also learn is Tapco wrench has a design flaw. At the handle end of the wrench, Tapco added screw driver tool. Sounded like a good idea until I tried to use the tool to break lose a barrel nut and the wrench slipped. The screw driver tool at the end of the tool stabbed my hand between the index finger and thumb. Not a big wound, but still hurt like MTF.
If you own one of those Tapco wrench, I would highly recommend you to either wrap the handle with cloth before using it, or just cut the screw driver end off with a dermal altogether.
