    AK Mag Catch Pin Mushrooming?

    Hello,

I just installed a new mag catch spring and pin. What do I do to stop it from drifting? Do I just press each side using a shop press until mushroomed?

That's how I do it. Can also use a punch and bucking bar

      BB+ Anvil + Hammer. Done.
...but their exists also in the human heart a depraved taste for equality, which impels the weak to attempt to lower the powerful to their own level, and reduces men to prefer equality in slavery to inequality with freedom.

You gotta get ball bearings, toothpick, paperclip, hammer, and stapler.
Put a ball bearing on either side. Throw the paperclip, hammer, toothpick, stapler aside, you dont need those.
        Then hit with hammer.

I use a ball peen hammer to flare it out, just back the other side on the anvil on my vise. If there isn't enough to flare out, then I hit it with a 5/32" or #22 slightly. That will give you something to flare. Messing with ball bearings are a hassle for me, a good old ball peen hammer can form a rivet head and it will flare the pin too.

The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.
