savage 111 DBM stock replacement/recoil pad

Hello everyone. I have a savage 111 chambered in 300 winmag with a DBM. I don't thing the synthetic stock is bad it does not feel as nice as my Hougue overmold. My big question is the recoil pad, it is just as hard as can be.(does not absorb well). What recommendation for a recoil pad would one have? Or an after market stock that will not break the piggy bank? I have found some but are all made for a blind magazine. Thanks for any info available.

I second the KICKEEZ.They make several models of grind to fit.Personally I like the trap pad with the radiused top on it.I have installed more than 13 of them on my personal guns and yet to have one come unbonded or tear, like I had a couple Pachmayers do.Limbsaver is out there as well, but I have no experience with their grind to fits.I am small and cut down most of my stocks about 1/2"-3/4" to reach 13"lop including the new pad.Unfortunatly most smiths want around $75 or more for labor. It takes me less than 2 hours to do it on my belt sander.I started because the last fairly known smith in my area that did one for me had a pad failure and told me to glue it back together. He had also scratched the stock,on my brand new then Sako.
Inexpensive stocks like the Hogue,Butler Creek type can probably be purchased. If you spend a little more,Bell Carlson makes OK stocks, especially with the model with the (medalist)aluminum bedding(I would do this if it were mine).I just am not sure for the DBM type though.Wood stocks like the Boyds are fairly nice as well and usually come with a decent pad.Let them know your length of pull and they may make it to you,so to speak.Again DBM??Sometimes stock replacement with a limited budget gets kind of iffy.
The KICKEEZ turns them into p*ssycats for what is happening at the shoulder.Ask john323 what he wants to install one.He may have them in stock.I do not know him,but we think alike.
      Good luck
