Virgin AKM Barrel press help

Hello,

I'm about to press a new barrel. The only barrel groove is on top for the HG retainer. what's the best way to align before pressing? should I use a straight edge and mark down from the middle of the Retainer groove to where the barrel is pressed in, or is there a better method?

Install lower hand guard retainer.
The top of it is flat.
Align that with the flat top of the front trunnion (sight from the chamber end. Your eye can tell when the two flat surfaces are parallel).
Press in barrel.
