I need a front trunion welded.

I bought a krink with a cracked trunion (came with a back up bulgy trunion) but I want to attempt to keep it all original (minus 922r) is it possible to reweld the crack? No one I asked will do it.

The guy said he welded it with no previous prep work to the trunion and gave it a once over

Would it be a sin to get the bulgy trunion and remove those numbers and engrave the Tula star and the other serial numbers on it? I have no intentions of selling it, ever. But the only reason I wanna attempt to keep the trunion is the matching numbers.

Not a sin in my book, and IMHO much safer than trying to repair that chicken droppings weld job.

That's what I was thinking, and I have the original so it's not like I'm pretending its all matching

These are the people you'll want to talk to for that trunnion work. Whoever did that welding was clueless as to what is needed for welding cast steel.

Piece of firearms history said they can do it but the second place has no phone number and the email you can't ask questions and they have a policy page for questions that doesn't work. Thank you very much for the links

What exactly is the part that is cracked called? I have a hard time describing its location. Is it the ear of the trunnion?

Between the barrel pin and front rivet. Is that the original barrel? Seems like someone forced it together wrong.

Thank you, and not original barrel, it's a bluejack barrel. And I don't remember exactly what happened

....that trunnion is jacked, dude. Run with the bulgy.
And now you can etch the trunnion with any year you want to pretend you have a kit of

I gotta wonder what this guy might have done to the barrel with his 'welding job'. It looks like he left the barrel in there when he 'welded' the trunion.
