    having a problem !

I have a Model 1917 Enfield that was converted to a sporter sometime in the past . The problem I:m having is when i try to chamber a round the cartridge appears to hang up and I have to force the bolt forward for the last inch or so to chamber it . The cartridge rim appears to fail to ride up under the extractor or maybe the feed angle is too steep . Anyone have a similar problem , if so how did you fix it if at all . Any advice welcome . By the way its a 30.06 .

    Convert it to cock-on-opening.

Likely not the issue but want to throw it out just the same. If you remove the bolt and insert the round with your finger does it go in freely? Could have a burr in the chamber.
