tool marks on a anodized 80% lower?

Just received my 80 and the tool marks are extremely visible through the anodizing. I put a drop of oil on it and it only made it worse. Is this normal and will it show through cerakote?

Depends on who made you lower. and no cerokote will not cover it up.

The lower shouldve been blasted before anodizing. It removes the tool marks.

You can read and see it here

Now that I have my 80% lower done, I plan on having it anodized BUT there are milling tool marks all over it. I wet sanded it starting with 120 wet/dry sandpaper and finished wed sanding it with 320 w

Guys,I thought I'd share some info on completing and 80% lower and changing it from the A2 style to the A1 style. First, let me say, this isn't a difficult project. With some patience, a drill press

I'm willing to bet it was blasted before anodizing. We've had some manufacturers just get a little lazy with the finish work before anodizing.

After looking at multiple pictures from here and their website I would say they didn't blast mine at all. All others had a nice blasted finish. The website says either a glass bead blast or type 3 hard Anodize. One would think they would blast before ano but I guess I will find out after I contact them.

You should send it back, blasting it will most likely result in un even wear and the chances of it ever looking great are very low.
Anodize is pretty hard and when you blast it a soft or thin spot may clear away but the immediate area around it may take longer to clean off and it can leave an uneven finish or wavy look to the part. Either way good luck with it...
