I've been doing these. Kind of a pain but they seem to run well.

I'm in the same situation, got my Polish blank from DK. I'll probably end up buying the jigs from AKB. I'll need help installing the rails though. I can PM you OP on my experience if you'd like

Remember that the Polish blanks are pretty soft and will egg out after some use. There are multiple threads on here that discuss this.

Did you bother to read the whole post? The OP got some heat treated shells from The Dark Knight. Those were tested to be around 38-40 HRC.

once you have them heat treated and you have a template or jig they are pretty easy going. Good 135 degree bits cut right through them.

Are you looking for the standard akm shepard hooks?

Just a suggestion. I use the Red Star retaining plates in my builds instead of the shepherds hook type. They work very well and easier (for me) to put in.

I refuse to use a shepherds hook. $7 for a retainer plate is the only way to go.

Guys he's trying to keep them as original as possible. With that said, I agree with using the red star plate instead of the Shepard hooks. Even if its for authenticity sake.

Just out of curiosity if you plan on using all these original parts... what did you plan on using for 922r?

I said I refuse to use it. He can do what ever he wants
