You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
Come on...what harm??

In my experience finishing stocks I found this stuff superior to Tru-Oil:
Shop gunsmithing tools (579) at Brownells, including bench blocks, hammer & punch sets, screwdrivers, and tool kits for firearm maintenance and repairs.
I cut it 1:1 with mineral spirits for the sealing coats. After it drys, I rub it out with folded pads of 3-M Wet or Dry 320 grit sandpaper lubricated with the thinned mix. Then remove excess with a lint free rag, and set aside to dry. Repeat the process until all grain is filled. Then apply the uncut finish with a finger and rub with the grain until entire stock is evenly coated. Set aside to dry. Then rub the coat with folded pads of Wet or Dry 400 grit sandpaper lubricated with the thinned mixture, remove excess with a rag and allow to dry. Continue applying finish and rubbing until all smiles (shiny spots are gone), then repeat the process of rubbing on finish and cutting it back with 600 grit and the thinned mix. Rub with a rag on the final coat and allow to dry at least a week. Then you can either polish it with felt pads and rotten stone or commercial automotive rubbing compound. Producing a professional appearing finish on a walnut stock takes about a month.
Laminated wood stocks are much faster because the glue lines penetrate through the grain structure, so sealing and raising a finish requires much less work.
For those who want a classical oil finish, this stuff works well:
Use the same technique as above, but substitute 1:1 Marine Spar Varnish and Turpentine for the sealer coat and rub out abrasive cloth mixture. When dry, apply the oil finish and rub it in stretching it with your palm (wear Nitrile gloves in both techniques). Then lubricate the abrasive cloth with1:1 oil and Turpentine (use synthetic Turpentine will avoid the stock smelling like an artists studio). Linspeed Oil and Tru-Oil will both dry better if a drying box is used - any cabinet with a 60 Watt light bulb for a heat source will do.
Both these products should be available by Internet.
Stock should come out looking like these two:

Also, be aware that stockpiling any aerosol cans for long periods, especially if they have been partially used, will likely result in loosing the propellant gas. Also, if the jars of oil finish are opened, wipe off the jar and lid threads before tightening the lid, and store the remaining portion upside down or it will skim over on top and dry out.Comment

All Birchwood-Casey products?
Does this mean Shoot-n-See targets???
BTW - everything causes cancer...Comment

Wow BC products cause cancer? I'm gonna have a cig now and think about if I really want to continue using their product.
I called turners few weeks ago, one of the employees said they have been sold for weeks and not sure why they haven't received anything yet. This explains it.
+1 for Amazon, ended up ordering online with no problems.Comment

Yeah, and that's why you see all of those stupid prop 65 signs everywhere. Funny thing about them is that they're so damn common people don't even notice 'em anymore.Comment

I just received some BC products yesterday. The Aluminum Black and the touch up pen both had the cancer warning on the packaging and on the items themselves.
I ordered them from Primary Arms. Not only did they ship them, but they were cheaper than everywhere else I looked.sigpicSometimes I wonder why I even bother. Some people are just incapable of understanding the simplest of things.Comment
