    bedding a mosin question

I'm going to be taking on bedding my mosin, never done this before so I had some questions for the experts.
I understand that some types of bedding for different situations, (pillar vs glass) My stock is in good condition, no cracks or anything. theres some space around the rear tang like most mosins have. I was thinking about glass beding to take up all the extra space around the reciever. Does anyone have any imput on which style of bedding would be better for this application? and maybe a product that has worked well in the past?

I use Acra Glass from Brownell's others have used marine tex with good results. It's up to you.
As far ar pillar bedding. That is done in conjunction with glass bedding and is done to prevent your action from compressing the wood. For a DIY job do both.
That said, I think any attemp to improve a mosin is a waste of time and money.
    Sorry but that's just me.

I'm not trying to make it into a 1000yd tack driver, I'm just having some fun with a fun rifle and learn some stuff along the way.

I was looking in to bedding the stock on my mosin also and I came across this on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=VFeDm7DMgzo
It is not a waste of time and money if you want to get some respectable accuracy..

I have to disagree, glass bedding will not fix the barrel, action, trigger, AMMO!! Any one of which would give you more improment in accuracy then a bedding job

There are several factors in making a firearm more accurate and the mosin is a good starting platform for learning.
If glass bedding the stock is step one then you move on to step two till you get it as accurate as you want.
