    Split AK handguard

So I was taking off the ak handguard from the tube and the wood split front to back and a long piece came off. I figure once it is on the actual tube the pieces will join together fine. Should I glue it first? I want to refinish this wood but now I am not sure if I should glue it, leave it or buy a new top handguard with a bottom handguard. I am going to have to get one anyways. Its a Romy kit.

I would use that Gorrilla glue - it is great. Have some fun - ask to borrow glue from your kids.

I am going to have extras, because I made a lot of stainless steel ventallated upper front hand guards for my Rommy G's. US made and can have the serial # of gun in it. I went a little crazy and made about 40 out of scrapps.

My wife has had it with this hobby a long time ago. PM me let me know.

It looks like you did not soak it with WD40 and set in sun - like some suggested.

Any way PM me if you don't want to glue it and I will send you one free-let me know if you need steel clip also.

don't kick yourself. these are frequently already cracked from heat. you just separated the pieces. can be glued, but heat will eventually crack it again.
