    virgin ak barrel indexing

    Hi all.
Ive got a new barrel from ak builders that has only the hand guard notch, yada yada yada. My main question is indexing the barrel in the trunnion properly. I assume the extracter notch is supposed to be in the 12-3 oclock position. Is that correct?
It looks a little self explanitory when you line up the hand guard notch but i just want to be sure.
    Thanks.

Extractor notch should be roughly 11-4
Best way to line them up is install the lower hand guard retainer, and sight the flat top of that off the flat top of the front trunnion.
Easy Peasy Perfect alignment every time.

11-4? Mine looks to be 12-3. Does it matter if its an AMD barrel?

The notch is 90 degrees on an AKM but not directly off the center of the bore so Yes, 11 o'clock to 4 o'clock .
AMD,Romy, Polish, Russian (+ more) are all the same spec.

You tell me. 12-3 or 11-4?
