    AK Bullet Button install problem

Im trying to install a BB on my SAR-1 and I can't mannage to get this dang rivet out of the mag catch lever. I can't mannage to drill it out with my bits well enough to get it out with the punch. Do I need a special bit or should I just kick up the elbow grease? Thanks in advance!

Thanks, cobalt bits are one thing I do not have. Looks like more $ on tools tomorrow. Hopefully this thing will go in easily otherwise.

You don't need to drill the whole thing out, only need to grind off one side of the pin head and push it thru.

If you have a vice or sturdy "C" clamp, you can squeeze the pin out. Use a vice or "C" clamp with a short punch, and a socket twice the diameter of the pin on the other side, and squeeze it out.

Thanks for the replies. A new titanium bit worked nicely, just ground the head off and punched it out. The BB works great. Thanks jjperl !
