Wrong ejector installed in my NDS receiver.

Hi folks I recently bought a NDS receiver in 762 for a build. I got home after my 10 day and test fit the front trunnions and bolt carrier assembly. As I slid the carrier forward I saw that the ejector appeared to be too long and prevented the bolt from going all the way forward.

I contacted NDS and they got back to me immediately asking for pictures. Well Mike gets back to me and says it appears that a 5.45 ejector was welded in place. He said there are three options. File it down yourself, send it to us to file down or they would send a whole new receiver but that would involve going through DROS again.

My question is if I sent it back to them and all they do is file it down...Is that still a band-aid fix? Will I have trouble down the line with it ejecting reliably?

    Thanks folks!

you can file it down your self its not that hard to do, when building your own receiver from a flat everyone has to trim the ejector down.

no this wouldn't be a band aid fix, save your self some time and hastle and do the work your self. go slow and be sure not to take off to much as that will cause you problems. if you do take off to much you can have some more metal welded to the tip of the ejector ( i had to have this done).

what ever you choose best of luck

Yeah I might go with that. It's very peculiar because NDS asked me to send my receiver back with a copy of my drivers license.

Anytime you send any firearm (and yes that piece of sheet metal is a firearm) a copy of your ID or FFL needs to go with it. I'm just suprised they didn't offer to stamp a new receiver with the old serial and file the paperwork with the ATF. If they did that your receiver could be sent to your home with no FFL involved or having to pay the DROS or FFL fees.
