    Rust on NDS receivers

So far it appears to be only surface rust but my NDS recievers have been lying around due to missing out on the last build party in April. Nothing to worry about correct? Will most build parties have a blasting boot/parkerizing capabilities? Thanks.

Lastly I bought two NDS1 receivers, I test fit my front trunnion in both receivers and then slid my bolt/bolt carrier/piston assembly in. In one everything fit fine but on the other it seems that the ejector is too long and is preventing the bolt to go past it. Is this fairly common in a NDS receiver? In addition the ejector that is too long does not have a rectangular dimple in it as the other one does, is this normal?

You can clean up the rust with some 000 steel wool and Hoppes. Or blast it. The ejector can be adjusted with a few strokes with a sharp file. The dimple isn't necessary unless you do sustained full auto fire.

spray your receiver with a little wd40 then clean with some steel wool. afther you sand it down with the steel wool wipe off the wd40 then recoat it with wd40 or some oil and put it in a safe place, this will make sure no more surface rust will appear. an handle with gloves, the oil in your skin will cause the metal to rust.
