It had been modified to da/sa as a standard 92; I find it interesting as it no longer has a decocker/safety. My question would be would any 92/92fs slide (assembly) drop on to a 92d frame?

Will work, then you could lower the hammer on a loaded pistol safely. The way it is now, its an ND waiting to happen.sigpic -
Ill have to see if I get it, and try n scrounge a 92fs slide from a buddy. That is such a scary concept...I seriously hope someone would not try decocking a hammer on a loaded weapon such as this.NEVER TAKE ANYTHING I SAY FOR LEGAL ADVICE. I have a hard time believing the GB seller's story. A deputy asking for a SA/DA pistol with no means of safely decocking it? What for? I can't imagine any department's policy allowing that... unless they didn't have one at all.I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!Comment

Yes, a 92D slide will drop onto a 92FS frame. And/or the 92D frame can have 92FS parts added to it. IIRC, it is just a hammer and sear, maybe even just the hammer, don't remember for sure, but it is just a simple parts swap.
Not a very good idea though, as you have no safety, and no decocker.
There is one guy on the Beretta forum that has taken that concept and added in a Billie/SteelII type 1911 style safety, so it can be cocked and locked like a 1911, but that requires a frame modification, and the parts required, Billie/Steel type safety, aren't readily available.WTB: SWISS & German police trade in pistols

That would be pretty cool. Similar to the taurus.Yes, a 92D slide will drop onto a 92FS frame. And/or the 92D frame can have 92FS parts added to it. IIRC, it is just a hammer and sear, maybe even just the hammer, don't remember for sure, but it is just a simple parts swap.

The plan would be to drop in a 92fs slide as they are plentiful.
I read the description again. It sounds like this was done per a deputy request. Then policy changed making it out of compliance.... (rightfully so as this thing would be awful for duty use in its current config)NEVER TAKE ANYTHING I SAY FOR LEGAL ADVICE. CONSULT AN ATTORNEY BEFORE RISKING YOUR FREEDOM... Now my question is are there any mechanisms in the frame that are different. (does the D frame have all of the correct cuts and mechaisms to accomodate the safety?)NEVER TAKE ANYTHING I SAY FOR LEGAL ADVICE. CONSULT AN ATTORNEY BEFORE RISKING YOUR FREEDOM...
