I am trying to replace a broken extractor on a Mossberg 144. I got the replacement part in yesterday but have not been able to get the old one off. Has anyone done this before? I looked around but have not been able to find much information on the subject. Here are some pictures of the bolt.

How to remove Mossberg 144 extractor

No experience with that model, but it looks like it is peened in place. So you would have to displace the peen, or grind it out then resecure it.
I wonder if you could peen it just slightly ahead or behind where it was origionally peened and if it would operate correctly? -
Do not displace the peen, it holds it in place.
you need to get a .04-.050" diameter wire and slip it in/under the extractor going all the way to the back.
Then try to pull extractor out thru the front of bolt, if not you will have to get an exacto knife or dental pick and lift the rear of the spring/extractor as it has a little tab that sits into a recess and push forward/outComment
