Even the "one piece" triggers for AR types can fail with use over time.
Where did disconector timing come from? Of course if you screw with the disconector timing you could create problems.
We are talking about trigger pull feel. The disconector is out of the picture

Hammer follow will not cause more then one shot per trigger pull. This is the old myth of " filing down the sear" well in this case disconector. The timing of the hammer is off enough that it would be extremely rare if you got a double tap.

I am a big fan of doing things myself. I have three AR's, two with aftermarket triggers (Jared single stage set to 1.5lbs) and one with a factory trigger that I cleaned up. I have done many trigger jobs on other guns too. If you take your time and learn how it works, by all means, do it yourself. Worse thing is you screw it up, it fails the function test and you buy a new trigger. You learn as you go and have fun. If you don't like to tinker or don't understand it even after studying about it, then take it to someone. Make sure to keep the sear angle positive. A negative sear angle might pass a function test but allow the hammer to follow the bolt down.

It takes time and some skill with stones to be able to get the trigger job these guys are talking about. I am sure they assume everyone has the hand dexterity and affinity for hand tools like they do. If you are not good with your hands then send it to Bill Springfield. He is good at what he does and will not cost you arm and a leg.

If you are good with tools, then try as you must but you will not get it right the first time.

If money is no object, buy a Geisle trigger.

Hammer follow will not cause more then one shot per trigger pull.
Not sure about this . If you have a bad disconnect or remove it all together and do not release the trigger when firing . The hammer will follow the firing pin home . This will cause the firing pin to be protruding from the bolt face and strike the primer when the round is chambered . This will intern fire the weapon starting the whole process over again . Very dangerous The gun could fire out of battery ( big boda boom )

If you want to come over and watch how to mod a stock trigger to 3.5-5 lb with a clean break ill mod it for you the "Old way".

I have modded many triggers on early A2's for myself and NM competitors since 84, its not covered very thoroughly on websites today as no one does it much anymore and most people prefer to buy their way into psychological "Operator" nirvana with aftermarket trigger assemblies.

Of course the Geissele,JP, Timney.. triggers are great. I have an Geissele SSE-A that is perfect for me,but at $200+ I don't have one in all my ARs

The ALG triggers are way better than some of the OEM or LPKs triggers.
I bought two under $50 each.

Rifle gear and some other places sell them too.

Did my own trigger job on an AMT Automag ll (22mag) back in the 80's. First pull of the trigger released all 10 rounds in about one second . All the brass was in a short line of about 8 - 10 inches and in a real pretty arc ... At a public range so yes it can be done. Maybe not on an AR, but it can be done

AR15 triggers.Well I have done maybe 20 or more over the years.I over press the trigger spring. The only part I polish is the hammer, where the trigger contacts it.It takes all the crappy creep out of them.Careful here,if you change the angle it is very easy to get it to bump fire with a light trigger finger. The secondary catch will seem to allow it to go auto, but you are actually firing it very fast.If you screw up the hammer,it will be about $18.I did that about 8 years ago changing the angle.I modified the new hammer as soon as I got it with the mistake in the back of my mind.I use that particular lower on a target rifle anyway, and whoa,it is light.
Jard makes a nice drop in for about $148.You can spend more and brag to your friends.
I run Timneys on my FN Scars.Sorry I didn't have the n*ts to grind on them.
