    80% laser Ak flat

Has anyone had any success with the laser cut AK flats; I'm thinking of trying one from ar15plus.com for a build up, but have not found much in the way of input regarding them anywhere.

I'd sure value any thoughts on them, especially from anybody thats built on them before.

    thanks in advance.

they can be done, but they have issues (they are not properly stamped before being lazercut)

While you can build one out of them, it is MUCH easier to do one from a stamped flat.

If you are concerned about the cost of tooling, you might want to wait for the next build party.

I have, and they are CRAP! IMVHO Get the best and do the work WWW.AK-Builder.com and you will be happy. OR just buy an NDS-3 and build or buy a complete rifle.

I was afraid it was a stamping issue with them...

I wish the mfg. would improve these flats - for a lot of us, these would be the lesser PITA to complete to finished.

I don't have much need for a hyd. press other than for flats, and really don't have any extra shop space for it; all my welding gear stays ready to run, I could even finish one out on a jobsite during break time

unless you are building a pistol i would buy a nodak receiver. a nds3 receiver is 55.00 shipped to your ffl and then whatever he charges. my dealer charges me 50.00. then there is no jackassing around with a flat.

                      It came out pretty good.

That box of parts is no longer on my shelf.
