    Mauser extractor

I have a large ring Mauser that has an extractor problem. It is holding the cartridge really tight and won't let the cartridge flip out unless I really rack it back. Can anyone help or no someone who may have one?

You can bend the extractor outward just slightly. This will relieve some of the tension and allow the brass to be released more easily.

It's a czeck Bruno and had a chopped up stock. It was pitted and had a belt for a sling. I bought a synthetic stock. The crest was ground and where the wood was it was pitted. I ground and polished it out and did a duacoat finish, very nice, put the scope on and took it to the range. Lock and load, fire, and extract! Ooopps!

Well here's the thing the gun in all likelihood is working just fine. This is not a Rem 700 with a spring ejector. If you want the cases to fly out of the rifle you need to rack the bolt with authority. LIKE IT WAS DESIGNED TO.
If you just ever so gently withdraw the bolt and bring it back on the ejector it will just push the cartridge out of the way. Possibly not fully releasing it. My 7x57 98 Mauser does the same thing if you handle it daintily.

It's hard to tell over the web if you extractor need any work but I doubt it.

sometimes the round stays on the bolt even with racking it back with authority. I can put my other bolt in and it works like a champ.

What caliber is it?? Because you just got swindled. 8X57, 7X57, 30-06 and many more all have the same head size and very few have any difference int he rim shape to make any difference.

Are you sure you don't mean Ejector???

The extractor, what grabs the rounds rim and chambers and pulls the spent round out! I don't think I got swindled due to the fact there was a differnce and now the rifle chambers and extracts with better results after installing the extractor sold to me. The price was right as ebay items are going for around the same price plus shipping, then installing it. My results took 15 minutes. I am a repeat customer for him so I see no advantage of him to swindle me for 35 bucks. I also learned there are a lot of different bolts that he brought out and showed me, something that most shops do not do. Thanks again for everyones input. Happy customer from Cal Customs Fallbrook Ca.
