A friend gave me a llama 1911 minimax .40s&w. when I first got it, it was dirty I cleaned it and took it to the range, and it ejected a live round right out the top, after about 14 rounds. I'm wondering if it could be the recoil spring. Ok problem number two.... The gun is alot louder that my colt 1911 .45. I have noticed burn marks on the breach face and on the feed ramp after only 15 or 20 rounds through it. I did notice that the barrel link had alot of play in it so I am going to change it out. Past that I see no visable damage to the pistol other than wear, there is no file marks or polishing marks.... Can someone please give me some info?

Ok... I;m trying to figure out what you have issues with.
1) The pistol is ejecting live rounds out the top... are you hand cycling? If so, you're not racking it back with enough force to throw a live round. If you're not hand cycling, the live rounds are just popping out whenever the gun cycles... you have a magazine issue.
2) While some blunt area is not uncommon... have you checked the casing? If the barrel is not spec and have some unsupported chamber, you may have damage case causing excessive gassing in the area. -
It popped out a live round when cycling while shooting... Problem fixed.. It was the barrel link it had so much slack in it, it wasnt locking, and also with a weak recoil spring it double cycled while firing... So i now have a new barrel link and new recoil spring its firing right again...Last edited by tomgato69; 04-01-2013, 12:00 PM.Comment
