    Homebuilt 1919A4

Thanks to a number of members here who worked with me on this project (let me use their shops, machined internals etc. And of course thanks to my beautifull wife who bought me the parts kit for christmass last year.

    I now have a beautifull 1919A4

I still need to rivit her togeather, but other than that she's ready to go.

    Just thought i'd share

I still can't get over how easy it was to put togeather.

Nice! I too did mine from an 80% plate. If you haven't countersunk your plate yet, I've got the countersink bit here if you need it. I blew my first set of rivits because my bucking blocks worked loose when I was jammin on it with the air hammer. Luckily my kit still had the LSP rivitted up. Make sure they're nice and tight and check them as you go. And when you're taking it apart, be VERY careful that that rod doesn't pop out and jab you. I messed up my finger pretty good when mine flew out. I know a guy that lost an eye to one too, and he was wearing safety glasses Great job and HAVE FUN FEEDING IT!!!!!!!!! I've run almost nothing but Indian through mine

        The terminal form of BRD.

I am sitting here mocking up the kit I have been sitting on forever. Unfortunately, I also found that the deal tripod and t&e (purchased seperately) won't work as is. So, modifications are in order.... or... there are still genuine WW2 'pods out there... but spendy.

        Or an A6 kit.

Or the can holder/tripod adapter... and loaders oh my!

This is probably the most expensive toy I will have when all accessories are factored in.

I can't remember where I got my parts kit.... (I think they had crossed cannon as their logo... started with an O maby?) IIRC it was around 300 bucks when my wife bought it for me.

The only mount I plan on getting is a pintle mount on the rollbar of my truck (1977 plymouth trailduster)

I will eventually get this either electroless nickle plated or hard chromed to prevent corosion.

Total $$ invested so far (by me and the wife)
300 or 350 (can't remember which) for parts kit
$50 80% receiver plate (thanks ebay)
            $80 internal machinework
$KMP triger and sear (I can't remember exactly but I think it was like $60 on sale directly from them)

and $60 for used tools to rivit it togeather (haven't picked them up yet)

oh and $30 worth of misc drillbits so that I didn't burn up my buddies stuff.

            So...

Total is somewhere in the neighborhood of: $580-650 (probably on the low end of that) invested so far, (and I'm almost done )

Prices have probably gone up a bunch over the last year, but if you shop aroud you can still build these for a reasonable price.

Damn, wish ya had details on the trig/sear package. They usually go for 130 or so a set so... 60 was a bargain.

I'll see if I can find the e-mail on it... I remember that it surprised me.

I delt directly with KMP instead of going through a reseller, and they had some kind of superdiscount going on at the time so it was even cheaper than usual.

I wish I knew when it was that I ordered that.... it would make looking it up alot easier.

                  ***** EDIT******
Ok... I found the e-mail... Looks like I remembered incorrectly...

The price direct from tomt on sale when i bought it was $80 (+$5 shipping) NOT $60

still... it was as cheap as I could get it.

I can't believe more people don't own 1919's. Every time I take mine to the range it seems like nobody has seen one before in real life.
