Definitely recommend duracoat. If you have an airbrush and even a tiny compressor it is very do-it-yourself friendly.

Alumahyde II. Super easy to use. Fairly cheap. It takes a week to fully cure. Dry to touch in an hour. Comes in FDE from Brownell's.

The good thing about the Rust-oleum is if it gets worn off you just respray it. Cheap simple and effective.

Aluma Hyde even less durable than Duracoat with Cerakote being 6 TIMES more durable than Duracoat.

Spend the money ONCE and get the good stuff because everything else will end up costing more when you count how many times you need to reapply it.

A 4 oz bottle of C-Series air cure Cerakote will cost you around $35.00 which is enough to do 2 complete rifles ..... parts, stocks the whole thing (if you are a very experienced painter you can get 3 rifles done because you can control waste from overspray).

A HVLP gun would cost around $40.00 ( the cheap ones are pretty good for about 20 to 30 uses) or use a Air Brush with a tip as close to 0.8 mm that you can find.

So yes the cost is more but NONE of the other products mention in this post can be applied to the INSIDE OF THE FIREARM and internal parts without screwing up tolerances and will not wear off after the first full magazine if fired.
